Christian Education

Christian education is vital to the spiritual development of young and old alike. Learning what it means to be a Christian, for a three-year-old or an eighty-year-old, softens the heart and challenges the intellect.

Adult Christian Education Opportunities

Couples Bible Study.  Meets every 3rd Friday of the month.    Currently studying: TBA.  Contact the church office for details.

Women’s Bible Study.  Meets 2nd and 4th Monday’s at Bev Palmer’s house at 10:30 AM.  Currently studying: “The Great Spiritual Migration, How the World’s Largest Religion is Seeking a Better Way to be a Christian” by McLaren.  Contact the church office for details.

Early Sunday morning Bible study on the Holy Spirit.  Meets at 8:30 AM in the library.  Currently studying the book of Acts.  Contact the church office for details.

Lunch and Learn Bible Study.  Meets Thursdays 12:10 – 12:50 PM.  Currently studying: The Gospel of Luke.  Contact the church office for details.  Lead by Pastor Aaron

Discerning the Media Bible Study.  Meets Thursdays, January 25 – March 1, at 6:00 PM in the Fireplace room.  Contact the church office for details.  Lead by Pastor Aaron

 

Upcoming studies:

  • A group on Grief. Pastor Aaron will lead a study on “A Grief Observed” by C.S. Lewis.
  • Men’s Breakfast Bible Study, lead by Pastor Aaron.
  • Coffee Hour Questions for Contemplation. Starting in March, a list of provoking discussion questions for the group that gathers after church.  It is to encourage intergenerational discussion at each table.  Contact the church office for details.

 

For a deep study:

Seminary Without Walls, lead by Bruce Swanson and Dr. Gary Waller.  An in depth study for commissioned Lay pastors.  This class is online and contact Pastor Aaron (office) or Bruce Swanson for more details.

 

Sunday School
During worship after the Children’s Time
We have our Sunday School time during the worship services. All youth ages 3 through 12th grade are invited to attend Sunday School after the children’s sermon during the worship service.

Youth Group and Presby Kids Club
The Youth Group (6th – 12th grade) and Presby Kids Club (Pre-K – 5th grade) meet every first and third Sunday after the worship service from 11:30am – 1:30pm.  Bring a change of clothes and invite your friends.  We will have lunch before starting the activities.
